About the Orange network
You may have a question about your transfer from the BASE to the Orange network. Not to worry, below youll find the answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Having trouble surfing?
Having trouble surfing before you receive the second SMS in which we inform you that your transfer has happened? Then activate data roaming in your device. Doesn’t work either? Then contact our helpdesk via the free number 1984.
When will I know that I have been transferred to the Orange network?
Easy: a few days before, we send you an SMS, and a second one as soon as your transfer is over.
I can still see BASE as a network?
Indeed, this might happen during your transfer. No need to worry about it, because you can still just call, surf or text. After a while, this will disappear automatically. So you don’t have to do anything for this.
Can I now also use services offered by Orange?
No. Only the network will change, so you will now start using Orange’s instead of the BASE/Telenet network. Visual voicemail, paying in app stores with your calling credit, or using VoLTE, this will not be possible.
Does the transfer have an impact on my calling credit, Viking advantage, Viking Points, bundles, …?
No. Only the network will change, so you will now start using Orange’s instead of the BASE/Telenet network. All other features such as Viking Points, rates (national + roaming), Viking advantage and functionalities on the website and in the Viking App, those will remain unchanged.

I can see the R from Roaming on my homescreen. What now?
This might indeed the case with some specific phones. No worries, you certainly will not pay anything extra. We are currently working on a solution. For the time being, it is important that your roaming is switched on in your phone to continue surfing in Belgium.
Can I return to the BASE network?
That is not possible.
I can see SMS from 1917 in my usage?
Correct, these texts are required for your activation on the Orange network. As you can see, these SMS are free. Moreover, you will not find them in your inbox.
I can no longer surf, text or call after my transfer. What can I do?
Make sure your phone is set to automatic network selection, not manual. This should do the trick.
